How Can We Honour Our Union Family Members?

Each of us has a role in safeguarding our colleagues. This includes their work and the environment in which they work.

A fundamental part of caring about and for others is seeing each person as an individual within a group, site or union and accepting that each person’s story, their lived experience differs from yours.

Worried about getting caught up in something? Feeling uncertain about something you saw, heard or feel? We all have a part in keeping ourselves, our colleagues, our students and school communities safe. It’s not about blame! It is about problem solving and lending a hand.

If you know of a member that is carrying a lot and aren’t sure what the Union can do, please reach out or leave them a note to reach out.  There are services and offerings we may be able to help with.

if you are dysregulated [overwhelmed, tired, tense …] even good advice feels like criticism”

Pride Month 2024

Hands holding megaphones aloft, which stream out pride flag colours.

CUPE476 stands in support of the rights of LGTBQIA2S+ people to access equitable employment, public services, and health care.

Allong with our national union, we oppose the ongoing campaign of hate, fear, and misinformation that has been aimed at two-spirit, trans and queer people. We recognize that sowing fear around trans and queer issues is a tactic to turn working people against eachother – Which goes against our core beliefs as unionists. Everyone deserves to be safe in their workplace and community.

We encourage our members to check out the following resources this pride month:
